Japanese Garden Update

I did it!

A few days ago I told that I was a bit nervous because I could start with stitching up some beads.
But after getting some advise from Joze I did it and I have to say I love it.

Stitching Châtelaine's is so addictive that I already ordered the materials to start with the Hummingbird Mandela, the workshop 01 en 04 en maybe The Evening in the Park.

I hope to get the materials in a week or to because most of it has to come from the US or Canada.

I'll keep you informed. Till next time.

Linda

I bet you thought I forgot about this blog, or Japanese Garden.   I slowed down when stitching the border as it got tedious and all those Jessica stitches.  I am very pleased with how it looks, though I do have a few jessica's too frog and redo.

Anyways here it is

What have I done

Sometimes you ask yourself, what have I done? Where did the time go?

Here in the Netherlands we have a tradition called Sinterklaas which is celebrated to around the 5th of december. Kids believe there is coming a holy man from Spain to bring them a lot of presents. So you see the last weeks I had to do a lot of shopping to buy gifts for both my daugthers although my elder daughter is a little bit doubtful about the whole story. Its a bit like Christmas which we also celebrate here in the Netherlands, but less grand than in other countries.

But  between all this shopping and preparing I still occasionally found the time to stitch and I wanted to let you see my progress.

The Mini Mandala Mystery consists of three parts and I know finished two of them. I also have al little progress with the Taj Mahal Garden.

I received almost al the materials for the Evening in the Park and the Hummingbird Mandala. I'm one of those who like to have a lot of WIP in their hands. So I think I will start with at least one of them this week also and maybe with both of them. I will keep you informed.

Here are some pictures.

Desert Landscapes Mandala, pt 2

After languishing on the shelf for nearly a year, my Desert Landscapes Mandala part 2 is finished!

Now I can finally move on to part 3, whew!  I love this design, but the backstitching of part 2 nearly did me in.  I am amazed by anyone who can wait until the end to do backstitching (or adding beads).  If I didn't do it as I go, I think I'd never finish anything. :)

A new year, a new project!

In december I've got a frame to stitch on ( I don't know how it's called in english) and I started a new project.
The Hummingbird Mandala. I'm also still working on the Taj Mahal and the Mystery but at the moment the Hummingbird is my favorit. Here are some pictures of all of them.

First three pictures are from the Hummingbird, next two are the Taj Mahal and the last three the Mystery.

Regards,
Linda

It's been a while since I've posted here. I had a major stitching slump last year and have only recently got back into the Chatelaine groove. But I've made up for that with a few purchases...I've bought Butterfly Lace and ordered the kit, Dragonfly Lace and a bunch of threads for it (I already had quite a few in stash), th chart for Herbularius, and this...

Heaps of solid stitching in this part! I *might* get it done before part two comes out...we'll see. I have to say, it looks a lot better now I've started adding backstitch, it was kind of blobby looking before!

Hello to my fellow stitchers.

I haven't stitched a Chatelaine for over a year but this one caught my eye, so in November I made a start on it. Stitched 1 over 1 on 32ct Antique Belfast Linen, I have finally finished part 1. I ordered by threads in November from ECC and they finally arrived last week due to the hold up with some threads from Gloriana, so they are just in time for me to start part 2 (in between looking after 6 Golden Retrievers- 1 a 4 month old puppy!)

Hi to everyone,

I am new at the Chatelaine Stitchers. I'm a stitching father, leaving in the Alps, married with two kids of 11 and 13. You can find my blog here www.loisirsensavoie.over-blog.fr

Below a picture of my WIP on the Mistery XVI .. an house made of dozens of different coulours, some beeing silks. A true confetti house  as martina says in the instructions.
I am registered as well to the Pomarium which will start end of the month.

Of course this farm house will be easier to see once all the black back-stitches will be there !

Here is the end of my part One.
I realise that there is a line of back-stiches that is not at the right place on the smaller house.. I have missed as well with some green crosses. Will add them now ...
Doing this part one, although challenging, has been great !

I've just realised I haven't post my Pompejian Garden Mandala finish here, so here it is for all to see.  I loved working on it and now I must crack on with White Nights in St Petersburg.

I finished Pompejian Garden on the 23rd July 2012.  I just need to save up and get it framed now.

Hi,

I've been a follower of this blog for a while already and I absolutely love admiring all the beautiful updates here. I just wish there were more of them, more people posting pictures of their gorgeous Châtelaine WIPs and finishes. To that end, I decided to start contributing as well.

I am working on my very first Châtelaine, Evening in the Park. My fabric choice for this one is Dawn by Picture This Plus. This is how it looks at the moment:

I also have a few other WIPs going, including a couple of HAEDs, so the progress on this one isn't exactly fast. But I'll post a new pic here whenever I have reached a point that warrants another update. The next one will probably be when I have completed all four swans. Until then, I will just admire your updates and leave the occasional comment on them.

Happy stitching, and lots of pics please! :D
